Q. What is Digital Anthropology?

A. Digital Anthropology emphasises a holistic and empathetic approach to understanding how digital technologies and human lives, societies, and cultures interact and mutually influence each other.

The Digital Anthropology Collective

The Digital Anthropology Collective (DAC) is an interdisciplinary group of students, academics, tech professionals and communications practitioners.

We emphatically believe that qualitative, ethnographic research is essential to building inclusive and ethical environments and technologies. Our goal is to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world, mobilising our qualitative research expertise to create better workplaces, products and services.

Why is Anthropology important?

Human activity cannot be reduced to mere quantitative data points. Anthropological methods uncover real human experiences with technology, and are crucial in providing the context for Big Data.
